Sylvera’s combines cutting-edge data collection, AI, and machine learning to bring transparency and accuracy to carbon markets. We don’t think it’s enough to just rely on existing databases, collection methods and satellite data, which is why our research team has developed and tested an approach that collects over 450 billion data points across 500km2 using three scales of LiDAR, feeding into our Earth Data Hub. Allister co-founded Sylvera in 2020 to bring transparency and accountability to carbon markets. Prior to Sylvera, Allister spent over a decade advancing renewable energy technologies and co-founded KPS, a wind energy company acquired by Kitemill. Allister holds a PhD in Machine Learning and an MBA from London Business School.
With over 20 years of experience in engineering leadership, Serge joined Sylvera as CTO in May 2023. Prior to Sylvera, he led engineering teams at Checkout.com and Twilio. Serge holds a degree in Electrical Engineering. At Sylvera, he is instrumental in developing robust data platforms to support global climate action initiatives.
Matt Thomas joined Sylvera in 2021. Prior to Sylvera, Matt held various leadership positions in technology and consulting firms, focusing on operational excellence and business development. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Cambridge.
Martin joined Sylvera as CRO in April 2024. Prior to this, he held the same position at Cora Systems and served as GM & VP for EMEA at ThoughtSpot. Martin has also contributed to various organizations as a board member. He holds degrees in International Business & Economics from Université Savoie Mont Blanc and Queen Mary University of London.
As VP Assessments at Sylvera, Jess is responsible for Ratings and assessment processes. Prior to joining Sylvera, she researched and designed geospatial products at Resilience Constellation. She holds degrees in Geology, Physical Geography and Geographical Information Science from the University of Edinburgh.
With over a decade of experience in carbon markets, green finance, and climate policy, at Sylvera Ben is focused the intersection of broader climate and market policies. A former Fulbright Scholar at Columbia University, Ben has collaborated with the UK financial sector, the UK Government, the World Bank, and the UN Climate Change Secretariat.
Thomas Herry joined Sylvera in July 2024. Prior to Sylvera, Thomas co-founded and served as CEO of Fenix Carbon, driving innovative sustainable practices in the carbon market and advocating for environmental stewardship. He holds a degree from Université Paris-Sorbonne.
Gabrielus Glemza is VP of Product at Sylvera, leveraging his expertise in sustainable finance and product development. He holds a BA in Economics and Land Economy from the University of Cambridge, and a BSc in Accounting & Finance from the University of Warwick. Previously, he served as VP of Product at Argyle and was a Principal at Boston Consulting Group, focusing on sustainability and climate initiatives.
Shona Crawford-Smith joined Sylvera in 2022 as part of the Product Data team, having previously worked in regenerative agriculture. Shona now leads Sylvera’s Product Data and Partnerships function, working with other companies in voluntary carbon markets to help scale together. Shona holds a degree in Biology with Management from Imperial College London.
Sean Barr joined Sylvera in July 2024, having previously held various commercial and technological leadership positions in the climate tech space. Sean holds an MBA with a focus on Social Impact and Innovation/Venture Capital/Entrepreneurship from NYU Stern School of Business and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University.
Daniel Cuffley joined Sylvera in July 2024, having an extensive background in senior roles in the startup and scale-up SaaS space, such as YOOBIC and Starburst Data. Daniel enhances processes and client engagement in various markets. With a strong background in sales leadership, Daniel excels in optimizing business planning, coaching, and team enablement to deliver results for our customers.
