Navigating Net Zero
About this paper:
Nearly nine years after the Paris Agreement, the corporate world faces increasing pressure from stakeholders—governments, regulators, investors, and consumers—to accelerate progress toward net zero. However, many companies lack the tools and expertise needed for effective climate action, hindering their efforts. Complicating matters are lawsuits, regulatory challenges, and reputational risks that can derail even the best-intentioned strategies. Fear of costly mistakes has caused widespread inertia. This report highlights these challenges, particularly concerns around greenwashing, but also shows optimism as boards increase investments to meet net zero goals, understanding that managing risks can drive long-term value.
